Jazz Band & Jazz Lab
- Director : Amanda Brigham
- The Leander Jazz Band is an “audition only” ensemble, and truly one of the most remarkable parts of the Leander High School Band Program. The ensemble is dedicated towards teaching an appreciation and understanding of the jazz idiom, working with world-renowned guest clinicians, and giving their annual “Evening of Jazz” performance in the spring, as well as other festival performances.
- Jazz Lab is a non-audition club that meets on off days around marching season and once a week during the spring semester. The club’s goal is to progress understanding of jazz fundamentals and listening/understanding of jazz music for all students, regardless of instrument they play.

The concert bands at Leander High School have a rich and storied history of success, consistently challenging students with exciting and technically advanced literature. The programs consistently receive sweepstakes ratings at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Evaluation every Spring, while bringing out some of the best clinicians and conductors in the wind band activity.
